Design - Build
Design-build is the project delivery choice for many because it provides single source responsibility while compressing the overall time frame for project completion. The owner, designer and builder function as an integrated team.
Geiger Brothers' experience in design-build dates back to the late 1960s and has continued through today. Our predecessors were approached by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and then designed and built its manufacturing facilities in Logan and Jackson, Ohio.
We did the same when approached by one of the nation's largest cabinet manufacturers, Merillat Industries, and designed and built not only the original facility but also most every expansion and addition since.
We designed and built several additions and a major renovation for Jenkins Nursing Home at Wellston.
When you consider Geiger Brothers success in performing thousands of square feet of design-build work, it’s clear why we are one of the leading contractors in Southeastern Ohio to offer this service.
As shown in photos below, in early 2011 Geiger Brothers completed two high-bay buildings for American Electric Power. The design-build projects were done under tight schedule constraints (3 months start to finish). Geiger Brothers coordinated design, permitting, and construction. The Chillicothe building will house service trucks in readiness for dispatch to address customer repairs and power outages during inclement weather. This building allows the trucks to be in a heated environment for quicker response during periods of ice and snow. The Gallipolis building will serve as a mobile transformer shop.
